Westlake (Seattle) group protests child-custody case
SEATTLE — Hundreds of protesters demonstrated against a controversial child-custody case in Norway on Saturday at Seattle’s Westlake Park.
The group says Norwegian social workers unfairly took custody of Marius and Ruth Bodnariu’s five children. Norwegian officials had previously told the Associated Press they were acting in the best interest of the children.
Marius Bodnariu’s sister lives near Portland, Ore.
The group has a petition online that has garnered close to 62,000 signatures. Similar protests have taken place in other parts of the country and Canada.
